3 Tips for Celebrating Trans Day of Visibility

Did you know that this week is Trans Week of Visibility & Action?

The week leading up to Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) on March 31 is known as Trans Week of Visibility & Action. This is a time dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments and victories of transgender and gender expansive (TGX+) people while raising awareness of the work that is still needed to address issues of TGX+ equity and access.

As we prepare for TDOV, here are three quick ways that you can honor this week of action and visibility:

  1. Learn about the contributions of transgender and gender expansive individuals to the modern world. For example, Lynn Conway, a famed pioneer of microelectronics chip design which enabled the modern-day personal computer.

  2. Acknowledge Trans Day of Visibility in your organization through your internal and external communications.

  3. Support trans-led organizations, like The Queer Trans Project (QTP), who are doing critical work to empower queer and trans individuals worldwide.
