Happy International Pronouns Day!
Happy International Pronouns Day!
International Pronouns Day began in 2018 and takes place on the 3rd Wednesday of October each year.
This day seeks to make “respecting, sharing and educating about personal pronouns commonplace,” with the goal of “transform[ing] society to celebrate people’s multiple, intersecting identities.”
The founder of International Pronouns Day even gives guidance for how companies and organizations should engage with this day, stating that “[we want] large companies/organizations [to] focus on their internal practices and improvements.”
One internal practice for cultivating pronoun inclusion is by sharing pronouns in your communications, like your email signature!

As we know, cultivating a culture of pronoun normalcy is imperative for the inclusion of TGX+ folks in the workplace, but there are many other elements that work in tandem with ensuring not only the inclusion but also the empowerment of TGX+ folks in our organizations. Correct pronoun usage is just the tip of the iceberg.
